What is there around Xi'an's Bell Tower roundabout?

The Bell Tower roundabout is in the centre of the muslim district of Xi'an, which is in the centre of the city, which is more or less in the centre of China. So what's to be seen about this large central roundabout, home to five lanes of traffic?

The Communist built Bell Tower Hotel, two gigantic and exclusive shopping malls (one that resembles a space ship), China Post offices (English lang. newspaper), our hostel, a Sony Centre, a digital camera shop, a China Mobile(phone) Service Centre, some offices. There are also retail opportunities in the subway beneath the 17th century Bell Tower.
